I want to take a minute to bring you some ALOFT news. When we chose the ALOFT name (which stands for Abundant Life/Ladies, our Fellowship Together), I felt that the Lord challenged us as Ladies to look at the definition of ALOFT.
Definition of ALOFT
1) at or to a great height 2) in the air; especially: in flight 3) at, on, higher
Examples of ALOFT
1) The balloon stayed aloft for days.
2) The ease with which he can hold a ballerina aloft with one hand is awesome.
Synonyms: above, over, overhead --- Antonyms: below, beneath, under
So based on the above definition, God has called & will enable us to soar to greater heights as He continues to hold us ‘higher’, over & above our challenges. We don’t have to live ‘below, beneath or under’ the struggles of our daily lives.
ALOFT is off to a great start & I hope that you have marked your calendars to be a part of our times together. This is a great way to connect & get encouragement from others.
The Parade of Tables held on Sat, Aug 27 was fabulous…just ask those who attended! A special thank you to all those who decorated & hosted the tables. What creativity!
We will be meeting this Saturday, 9/17 @ 8-9:30 am for “Prayer Fellowship on the Porch” at Vickey Stowe’s home off Shepherd Road. This is just a time to get together & enjoy coffee on the Porch. Fall is rapidly approaching & they say the temperatures for Sat morning will be 50+ degrees…Dress Warm! Please call Vickey @ 704/664-2486 if you need directions.
On Sept 23-25, 20 ladies will be heading to Myrtle Beach for the District Retreat. There is still room if you would like to go. Please see Shari ASAP.
Tuesday, Oct 11 @ 6:30 pm, Cheryl Pletcher will bless us with teaching. Also, Serenity House is in need of help restocking their Paper Towel supply if you can help!
Monday, Oct 17 & Monday, Oct 24 – Pumpkin Patch Craft for our Fall Festival. See Sunny Cooke for info.
Saturday, Oct 29 – Fall Festival at the Church. Volunteers needed for Food & Games.
Tuesday, Nov 8 @ 6:30 pm, Vickey Stowe will be sharing “Trash to Treasure”.
Tuesday, Dec 6 @ 6:30 pm is our Annual Christmas Gathering. For those interested there will be a “Cookie Exchange”. Please make 6 dozen of your favorite cookie.
